Greetings

We have just returned from two profound meditation retreats at Worth School, Sussex.  These were the Return Journey and the Internal Alchemy Retreats.  For those of us attending it was another opportunity to receive the Transmission of these powerful teachings and to be led into a timeless state of meditation and connection.

Many of us would agree that there can be no more important work for us as human beings than to focus on realizing our original natural state of energy, vibrancy and health.  Originally child- like, supple, resilient and full of light by the time we have reached adulthood we are well deviated from our original state. Often full of shadowy, smokey energy, and messed up information we find ourselves held back unable to realise our true potential.  The ZhixingReturn Journey Meditation reminds us that though we may employ many practices of  diligent body work and be very flexible and strong,  we will always need to take care, as this is not complete of itself.  If we cultivate the form of the body (or Jing) it is not as good as cultivating the Qi. If we cultivate the airy or Qi nature, our  body is quickly taken care of.  To cultivate the Shen or Body light, is to draw back our scattered energy,  to make it gather and center
and we will be well safeguarded.  Our inner energy and information will be reconfigured.
The Return Journey is one such practice to cultivate the Body Light and to connect us to the Dao-which is the Infinite cosmic presence.  Zhixing reminds us to meditate on the Light nature of the body, which is its essential nature anyway.
"As in nature, we know that the bright sun is just beyond the clouds".
We need to remind ourselves of this.
The Return Journey symbol at the top of the newsletter is a code to help us to connect to the practice.

The Internal Alchemy focuses on opening certain energy channels and also on centering the energy within the body cavities.  The inner alchemical state is more like electricity, or a magnetic sense of the Qi.  We experience a sense of Light radiation as the inner cavities open up, and the body becomes supple and juicy.   Again we are much more in touch with our original state.  A closely guarded secret of the ancient masters this practice is renowned for its rejuvenating effect.
The Dantian meditation DVD is one tool which we can use to help us to connect to this state.

For those of us who are practicing these Hua Gong meditations, traditionally a very good time to concentrate the energy is between 11pm and 1am.  As Zhixing and many of us students also meditate then, it is indeed a good time to turn our thoughts in this direction...

The WAY is shaped by use, but then the shape is lost
Do not hold fast to shapes
But let sensations flow into the world as a river courses down to the sea.....
